Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
US actor Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic TV shows such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in LA recently following treatment for cancer since 2022, as reported by reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones said in a message.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
A Prolific TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on several popular shows, like:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe called "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn guided, supported, and advised many learners during his career and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared online.
The actor is survived by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his family.
