Football Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Singer Murs in Top Flight Predictions
Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland before the international hiatus, but can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against AI, fans and a range of special visitors.
In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is available on Friday.
Football and Parenting Experiences
Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of multiple charity football matches down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a player.
"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."
The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.
"I won't force football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he added.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a while too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this game will be quite close, though. Burnley are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
It suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.
West Ham's only on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was previously that team's manager.
Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers continuing their run under Nuno, or the home side responding?
I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four matches.
My son told me to select Bees forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are always strong at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the break but I think the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six matches.
They have got lots of quality in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.
Regarding Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.
The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not seen any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.
The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.
However I am not going to do that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.
Looking at Fulham's home record, the only team they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be extremely desperate for a good result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and also that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough one to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
