Netflix Chooses Perfect Star for Mr. 2 in One Piece Season 3
Baroque Works is set to exert significant influence in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the true confrontation won’t unfold until the next season, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has just been cast.
The streaming service revealed Tuesday that Cole Escola will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will portray Bon Clay. The role can use their power to transform into an exact copy of anyone they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The performer, who is gender non-conforming and uses they/them pronouns, will play a rendition of that role re-envisioned as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag performer, in the live-action show, differing from the initial comic and anime.
The new cast member is joined by a number of fresh additions tasked with bringing the organization to the screen, featuring head Mr. 0, played by the well-known actor, a talented actress as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who will appear as the ensemble as the monarch of the desert kingdom.
Although this character is a key figure of Baroque Works, the individual won’t appear until One Piece season 3. With the second season likely to portray the Little Garden arc, this signals a notable change in the placement of the character’s debut, one that could indicate more adjustments to the narrative framework.
The actor’s combination of precise humor and profound feeling makes them a standout choice for the role. Along with their recent voice performance in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and several accolades for writing and starring in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the versatility they’ll add to one of One Piece’s most celebrated roles.
The platform’s adapted One Piece program is due to premiere for its second season on March 10th, 2026.
