The Popular Show Campaign 4 Unveils the Soldiers Group

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a diverse cast of personalities, and a exciting storyline featuring divine entities, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in strength within Dol-Makjar.

Heads-up: Key plot points for the latest installment of Campaign 4 follow below.

The Soldiers Table Revealed

The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of characters who will split off from the central cast to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.

The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).

Why Split the Party?

Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.

What Defines the Combat Party

As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are few and far between.

Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might seem unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

First, the party has a clear idea where to head next after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.

Casimir of Thjazi—whose demise started the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, entering the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.

The traitor then settled his liabilities and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, north of the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.

Personal Motivations

Additionally, each character has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:

  • Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
  • The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and advises that it is a hostile environment.
  • Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
  • However, their reputation as key figures in House Halovar could help the group reach areas they normally couldn’t.
  • Additionally, The fighter swore a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:

  • Thimble and The character are known criminals.
  • The warrior and The healer turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
  • The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.

This means them little choice but to travel to Timmony in search of the antagonist.

Future Episodes

From the recent installment’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight players to round up the Explorers and Strategists tables.

Viewers can anticipate discovering which players will be in which group in the story’s last Overture episode, streaming live on October 24.
