He noted that he spoke to her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

The president said he’s proposed a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both soldiers of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” the president addressed the press. “And likewise with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Mourners gathered over the weekend at Webster County high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s national effort to assist policing efforts in the capital.

“She was the individual that instructors desired. She behaved with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a positive energy that encouraged those around her,” Hankins, the head of Beckstrom’s alma mater, stated to the press. “She was sweet, compassionate and always ready to assist people.”

Funeral plans for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Authorities have accused a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

“She had a lot of compassion and she definitely had courage,” the governor addressed the crowd at the vigil. “Though her time was cut short, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
