The sports network Parts Ways with Mark Sanchez, Replaces Him with Former QB Brees
The network has ended its relationship with sports commentator Mark Sanchez as he faces criminal charges, various sources confirmed on Friday.
"We can confirm that Mark Sanchez has ceased working for Fox," a network representative commented. "There will be no further comment at this time."
Stepping into the commentary position will be another former NFL quarterback, Drew Brees, according to the report. He will likely to work alongside announcer Adam Amin and has a contract to provide commentary through the 2026 season.
Details of the Sanchez Situation
Sanchez, 38 had been sidelined since he was stabbed and subsequently arrested after an altercation in an Indianapolis alley with a senior truck driver. He was in town to call the 5 October game between the Colts and Las Vegas Raiders but was hospitalized and replaced that week by Brady Quinn.
He is charged with felony battery as well as at least three lesser charges. The felony charge could result in of 1-6 years in prison, if convicted, and he has entered a not guilty plea in Marion County, Indiana.
Drew Brees' Career and Background
